Eastern Bank (EBL) signed an agreement with Oslo-based IDEX Biometrics to launch the world’s first biometrics metal card featuring cutting-edge fingerprint sensor technology at its head office in Dhaka on Monday. Ali Reza Iftekhar, managing director and CEO of EBL, and Catharina Eklof, chief commercial officer of IDEX Biometrics, signed the agreement. M. Khorshed Anowar, DMD and head of retail and SME banking; Zahidul Haque, chief technology officer; Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury, head of Digital Financial Services; and Tasnim Hussain, head of Cards from EBL, and Claus Hansen, vice president-Sales, APAC, IDEX Biometrics, were also present.
