Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) has signed deal with Bangladesh Bank on disbursement of agriculture loan, at a maximum interest rate of 4 percent, under a refinance scheme worth Tk 5,000 crore, a press release said Tuesday. Ali Reza Iftekhar, MD and CEO of EBL, and Abul Kalam Azad, director, agricultural credit department of BB, signed the participatory agreement, at the latter’s office in the city recently. BB Governor, Abdur Rouf Talukder, and deputy Governor, AKM Sajedur Rahman Khan, were also present.
