Evaly applauds the Ministry of Commerce’s decision

E-Commerce Marketplace Evaly has lauded the newly taken decision of the Ministry of Commerce on the issue of e-commerce.

Mohammad Rassel, founder and CEO of Evaly, welcomed the decision that e-commerce companies will get the price of the product after the customer receives the supply of the product.

A meeting on e-commerce issues was held at the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday (June 24). It was attended by representatives of the WTO, the Cell of the Ministry of Commerce with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and E-Cab, an organization of e-commerce traders.

At the conference, it was decided that e-commerce enterprises would only be paid when the goods were delivered to the buyers. These transactions will be supervised by the Bangladesh Bank.

Mohammad Rassel, chief executive of Evaly, said, ”We welcome the issue. Also, an SOP service will be developed through the Bangladesh Bank soon. So, payment is not made before the delivery of the product. Those who have a bank or credit card will control the payment.”

Rassel added that there is no e-commerce policy in Bangladesh so far, for which Evaly itself has been advocating for a long time. ”We believe that today’s decision is the first step in formulating that policy. We believe that this will benefit the entire ecosystem, including customers, merchants, and the marketplaces. Any regulatory decisions will apply to everyone, not only Evaly. We appreciate it,” he added.
