Evercare Hospital has introduced the “Basic Life Support” community first responder training program which will primarily train security staff in apartment complexes, said a press release.
The campaign was initiated by training security staff of apartment complexes in the capital’s Nikunja 1 residential area and in Nasirabad Housing Society in Chattogram, while strictly adhering to Covid prevention protocols.
The release said Evercare also plans to extend the training to more first responders including ambulance fleet operators, police and others in the near future.
Through this initiative, the hospital aims to train the security staff of 10 different residential areas in Dhaka and 10 in Chattogram in first batch. Besides training the staff on basic life support and emergency responses, Evercare will also provide the necessary supplies and first aid kits, the release read.
Regarding the training, Dr. Muhammad Hasan Andalib, consultant- accident & emergency of Evercare Hospital Dhaka said, “In both Dhaka and Chattogram, there are many vulnerable senior citizens residing in residential areas who often find it difficult to receive quick medical attention in case of emergencies. So, this part of the campaign is mainly targeted towards aiding senior citizens and other people who may need emergency medical attention in residential communities”
