Fifty promising entrepreneurs now ready for business

Bangladesh Bank and BRAC Bank completed two batches of training under ‘Entrepreneurship Development Programme’ Dhaka, Thursday, September 15, 2022: Acquired knowledge on the fundamentals of running a business, 50 promising entrepreneurs are now ready to engage themselves in their respective ventures fully.

With technical assistance from Bangladesh Bank, BRAC Bank has conducted intensive training for 50 up-and-coming entrepreneurs in two batches.

The closing ceremony of the second batch of the grooming initiative titled ‘Entrepreneurship Development Programme’ took place at the bank’s Head Office in Dhaka on September 15, 2022. Md. Obayedul Hoque, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank, formally handed over the certificates to the 25 entrepreneurs of the second batch. The training of first batch was completed on March 27, 2022.

Selim R. F. Hussain, Managing Director & CEO; Syed Abdul Momen, Deputy Managing Director and Head of SME Banking, BRAC Bank, and Mohammad Zahid Iqbal, Joint Director, SME and Special Programmes Department, Bangladesh Bank, were also present. BRAC Bank has hosted the month-long training at its premises, with Bangladesh Bank officials and BRAC Bank training professionals conducting the sessions. The training programme aims to facilitate the upcoming business owners to develop and hone entrepreneurial and managerial skills to expand and sustain their businesses. As part of the programme, the entrepreneurs participated in a product fair at the bank premises.

The programme is funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and managed by the Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP) Project, SME and Special Programmes Department, Bangladesh Bank.  Selim R. F. Hussain, Managing Director & CEO, BRAC Bank, commented on the initiative and said: “As an SME-focused bank, BRAC Bank always emphasises on ensuring easy access to finance to the new entrepreneurs. We also arrange intensive training to help them run their business smoothly.
