HAAB holds virtual discussion on Hajj and Umrah situation

Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB)holds a virtual meeting. HAAB discusses all the challenges for Bangladeshi pilgrims for doing Holy Umrah this year in pandemic

HAAB Presiednt M ShahadHossain chaired the meeting on Monday. Md. FaridulHaque Khan MP, Minister of Religious Affairs Ministry was also present as the Chief Guest in the meeting, a press release said.

M ShahadHossainsaid that SinofarmCovid jabs are not approved by Saudi Arabia for Umrah pilgrims. Diplomatic efforts are needed to get the Saudi authorities approval forSinopharmCovid jabs.

Bangladeshi Umrah pilgrims have to be given any of the Pfizer, Mordana, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson etc. prescribed by the Saudi government.

The cost of Umrah pilgrims will have to be borne by Saudi Arabia.

The current fares for Umrah passengers are much higher than previous. Steps need to be taken to reduce airfare. He also called on all agencies to ensure that Bangladeshi Umrah pilgrims play a responsible role in providing good services and to ensure that the Umrah pilgrims are entitled to it.

Mr. Md. Zahirul Islam, Counselor (Hajj) Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said that all of them must be vaccinated under the direction of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government may soon come to a positive decision on Sino pharmaceuticals.

Janabtarik A Al-Waidi, Country Manager said, Saudi Arabian Airlines has arranged 3 daily flights for the convenience of the pilgrims from Bangladesh.

Dr. Abu SalehMostafa Kamal, Managing Director, Biman Bangladesh Airlines participated in the discussion and informed that Umrah Fair has been announced on behalf of Biman. Biman Bangladesh Airlines is always ready to provide necessary services to Umrah passengers.

Mr. Md. Mahbub Ali MP, Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Mr. Md. Nurul Islam PhD, Honorable Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mr. Md. MokammelHossain, Honorable Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and Mr. Isa Yusuf Isa Alduhailan, Honorable Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh were present at the meeting.

Among others Dr. AbusalehMostafa Kamal, Managing Director, BimanBangladesh Airlines, Mr. Gaziuddin Md. Monir, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mr. Md. Saifulislam, Director (Hajj), Janabtarik A. Al-Waidi, Country Manager (Hajj), Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mr. MaulanaYaqoobSharafati, Senior Co-President, Hub, Mr. Mohammad Shah Alam, Vice-President, Hub, Mr. MotaharHossain Babul, Vice-President, Hub, Mr. Farooq Ahmed Sardar were attended the meeting.
