ISHO recently announced the 2nd edition of its Artist Club. This edition, will see artwork from two talented artists and ISHO’s in-house creative team being displayed and available to buy at ISHO’s showroom and website, a press release said.
The Artists’ Club is an initiative that creates an accessible platform for both established and upcoming artists to showcase their artwork to a wider audience. It aims to promote the burgeoning artist community in Bangladesh and in-turn enable more people to experience and access art from the comfort of their homes.
Kazi Istela and Nazim Ahmed (Jeetu), are the two artists whose work is featured. Istela has been part of the Artist Club since the platform was officially launched a year ago and this time round has created a series of posters that are based on Bangla typography. On the other hand, Jeetu’s two series bring a fresh perspective on gender stereotypes with Mughal influences as well as feature depictions of some of our much loved national symbols. Lastly, this edition, also features artwork from ISHO’s in-house creative team – Marjuk Hassan, Farhana Naznin, Ayatullah Sadik – who introduce a series that uses simple lines and shapes based on current trends and sensibilities.
