Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President S. M. Mannan (Kochi) tendered his resignation letter to the BGMEA board seeking relief from the duties of president due to long-term medical conditions.
In this context, an emergency meeting of the Board of Directors of BGMEA was held today, 24 August 2024, Saturday at Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka.
- unanimously at the meeting. M. Accepting the resignation of Mannan (Kochi), Khandkar Rafiqul Islam was made the president of BGMEA, who served in the term of 2024-2026. M. Mannan (Kochi) held the post of Senior Vice President on the BGMEA Board.
In the meeting, Abdullah Hil Rakib took over from vice president to senior vice president and Asif Ashraf took over from director to vice president.
The vice presidents of the board headed by Khandaker Rafiqul Islam are:- 1st Vice President – Syed Nazrul Islam, Senior Vice President – Abdullah Hill Rakib, Vice President – Arshad Jamal (Dipu), Vice President (Finance) – Md Nasir Uddin, Vice President – Miran Ali, Vice President- Asif Ashraf, Vice President – Rakibul Alam Chowdhury.
