Peaceful atmosphere prerequisite to foster industrial growth BGMEA

The RMG sector in Bangladesh has earned global praise not just for its outstanding achievements in workplace safety, but also for making significant strides in strengthening industrial relations and ensuring workers’ rights and well-being, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said.

He made the remarks while speaking at a view exchange meeting between BGMEA and Industrial Police at BGMEA office in Dhaka, a press said on Thursday.

The Industrial Police has been playing a significant role in maintaining harmonious industrial relations between owners and workers of garment factories, BGMEA President said.

 “We have to carry forward the achievements that we have made in developing sound relations between the employers and workers through effective engagement and discussions so that the RMG industry could keep the growth momentum going,” Faruque said.

A peaceful atmosphere in industrial zones is a prerequisite for fostering industrial growth, he added.

Additional Inspector General of Police Mahabubor Rahman represented the Industrial Police in the meeting.

BGMEA Vice President Md Shahidullah Azim, Vice President Md Nasir Uddin and Directors  Faisal Samad, Haroon Ar Rashid, Inamul Haq Khan, Md Imranur Rahman and Mijanur Rahman were present on the occasion.

Deputy Inspector General (Operation & Crime) Jehadul Kabir, Deputy Inspector General (Intelligence) Moinul Haque, Additional Deputy Inspector General (Admin & Finance) AKM Awlad Hossain, Additional Deputy Inspector General (Intelligence) Sana Shaminur Rahman, Additional Deputy Inspector General (Operation & Crime) Masud Ahmed, Superintendent of Police (Ops & Intel) Shoeb Ahmed, Uttam Kumar Paul, Superintendent of Police (Admin & Finance), Superintendent of police (SP IP-1), Industrial police-1, Ashulia, MD Sakhawat Hossain, Superintendent of Police (SP IP-2), Industrial police-2, Gazipur, Md Siddikur Rahman and  Superintendent of Police (SP IP-4), Industrial police-4, Narayanganj, Md Asaduzzaman were also present at the meeting.
