Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina may inaugurate the Bhumi Bhaban Complex at Tejgaon in the next month (September), said Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury.
He made the remarks while inspecting the latest progress of the building on Wednesday, today.
It is to be noted that during her visit to the Ministry of Land on September 18, 2014, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had directed to bring all the departments/agencies under the Ministry of Land to come under one roof to provide ‘One Stop Service’ to the people. An initiative was taken afterward to construct a Bhumi Bhaban Complex to accommodate the offices/agencies under the Ministry of Land at the same place.
Land Secretary Md Mustafizur Rahman PAA was present during the land minister’s visit to the project area. Meanwhile, Project Director of Bhumi Bhaban and Superintending Engineer of Public Works Project Circle-1 Md. Khaled Hussain informed the Land Minister about the latest progress of Bhumi Bhaban. At that time, the project director informed the minister that Bhumi Bhaban is now fully ready for conducting official activities.
Acting Chairman of Land Reforms Board Zahida Khanam, Director General of Land Records and Survey Department Md. Moyazzem Hossain, Land Ministry Additional Secretary Pradip Kumar Das, Public Works Department Superintending Engineer Sati Nath Basak, Superintending Engineer Md. Mahbubur Rahman and concerned officials of the Ministry of Land and Ministry’s departments/agencies and Public Works Department were also present on the occasion.
The Land Reform Board, Land Appeal Board, and Land Records and Survey Department under the Ministry of Land are located at different places in Dhaka city. Apart from various departments and agencies under the Ministry of Land, offices of various projects being implemented under the Ministry of Land and provision of a modern record room have been set up in the Bhumi Bhaban complex. different offices under one roof will facilitate the process of land-related services and services. A sewage treatment plant has been set up in the building as a special arrangement.
A Mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangabandhu Corner, and a day-care center for the convenience of working mothers, have been set up in the Bhumi Bhaban complex.
The estimated cost of the project is around Tk. 180 crore. The building has a total of 13 floors with 2 basements. The construction area of the main building is about 32, 200 square meters.
