The five-day Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) Fair-2021 will begin at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital from December 23.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi is expected to open the fair where REHAB members will showcase their housing solutions, said the association Vice President Engineer Mohd Shohel Rana at a press conference at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel on Sunday.
“Some 220 stalls having building material suppliers and financial institutions, will participate in the fair. Of them, there will be two diamond pavilions, six gold sponsors, 22 co-sponsors, 15 building materials and 13 finance investors in the fair,” said REHAB Vice President. The exhibition will be the country’s largest real estate fair which will promote the sector.
The fair will remain open from 10:00 am to 9:00pm every day. The entry ticket has been fixed at taka 50 for single and taka 100 for multiple. The organizer will arrange raffle draw with exciting prizes at the fair every night. The fair will conclude on December 27, he added.
“The recent price hike of construction materials has created a huge concern in the real estate sector,” Kamal Mahmud, another vice president of REHAB, said while responding queries.
“Our many projects have been immobile owing to price hike of construction materials in Bangladesh. The government should form a monitoring cell for market observation so that traders cannot increase the materials’ prices as per their desire,” he added.
