A seminar on Rotary Public Image was held at a hotel in Dhaka on Friday.
Speaking at the seminar Rotary Governor Barrister MutasimBillahFarooqi said that the organization is working forthe helpless people. Rotary continues its programmesacross the country for the benefit of millions of people, he added.
The seminar was addressed among others by Rotary District First Lady RokeyaFarooqui, former Governor Maghfur Uddin Ahmed, Shawkat Hossain, Tayub Chowdhury, KhairulAlam, former Information Adviser to the Prime Minister Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, M. Hamid, Ibrahim ZayedPinak and Din Mohammad Selim.
Barrister Farooqifurther said that Rotary had played a vital role in eliminating polio from the world. This year, besides establishing women-friendly comfort centers in 500 educational institutions of the country, Rotary implemented the programme of distributing 35 lakh masks, implemented combat hanger project, planted 1 million trees, said a press release.
RokeyaFarooqi said that the Rotarians are working for the betterment of the society utilizing time, money and talent.
Lieutenant Governor of Rotary AbulKhair Chowdhury, JulhasAlam,President of Uttara Rotary Club, Hosne Ara Polly,President of Cosmopolitan Rotary and other best performers were awarded for their outstanding contribution in building the public image of Rotary.
On the occasion, Governor Farooqi announced the appointment of renowned cricketer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza as Rotary Brand Ambassador, Rotary Image Builders Award and Rotary Media Award. Besides, Miss Bangladesh UmmeJamilatun Naima was also announced as Rotary Environment Ambassador at the event.
