ShahjalalIslami Bank receives letter of appreciation from central bank

ShahjalalIslami Bank Limited hasreceived a letter of appreciation from Bangladesh Bank for successful loan disbursement under Refinancing Scheme.

Abdul Aziz, managing director (Current Charge) of ShahjalalIslami Bank, received the letter from FazleKabir, governor of the Bangladesh Bank,at a ceremony in AN Hamidullah Conference Room in the central bank’s Head Office on Wednesday.

Among the scheduled banks,17 banks are given the letters of appreciation.

In the fiscal years of 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the economic activities of the country decreased significantly.

In order to maintain the momentum in the economic activities of the country and to continue food production, The Bangladesh Bank set up a special refinancing scheme of Tk5,000crore.

Under the scheme, ShahjalalIslami Bank received the award in recognition of being able to disburse 100 per cent loan at the end of the stipulated term of the scheme against the allocation of Tk 60 crore.

AKMSajedurRahman Khan, deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank,MdAwladHossainChowdhury, executive director of Agricultural Credit Department,Md Abdul Hakim, general manager of Agricultural Credit Department,andMdAbdur Rahim,head of SME andAgri Investment Division of ShahjalalIslami Bank Limited,were also present at the programme.
