Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC (SJIBL) has been awarded as “Best Climate Focus Bank” in Bangladesh in recognition to be one of top ten banks in sustainability rating by Bangladesh Bank in 24 National Renewable Energy Conference and Green Expo-2024. The Institute of Energy, University of Dhaka (DU) and GreenTech Foundation jointly organized the award giving ceremony in the Senate Hall on 23rd May. The Deputy Managing Director of SJIBL Imtiaz U. Ahmed received the award in the program. The program was chaired by Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) DU. The former Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Atiur Rahman, the Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, ambassador of Germany H.E. Achim Troster and ambassador of Sweden in Bangladesh H.E. Alex Berg von Linde were present in the program. Sahabub Alam, AVP and Mohammad Manzur Rahman, AVP as members of Sustainable Finance Unit of SJIBL were also present.
