Financial Literacy Wing of Shariah based Union Bank Limited (UBL) recently organized ‘Enhancing Social Awareness for Sending Remittance through Legal Channels’ program at Barishal Branch in Barishal. SEVP and Supervisor of Financial Literacy Wing of the bank Md. GolamMostafa was present as the chief guest. The Head of Barishal Branch MoshfiqurRahman Khan and the Head of Jhalakathi Branch Md. Sirajul Islam Khan were present as special guests. Besides, local elite and marginalized professionals of Barishal and Jhalakathi were also present at the program. The importance of remittance, the benefits of sending remittance through banking channels, discussions on the harmful aspects of remittance through hundi and video clips were presented in the program.
