UCB Investment announces closure of IBBL 2nd bond

UCB Investment Ltd. has announced the closure of IBBL 2nd Perpetual Mudaraba Bond at a ceremony held on Tuesday at IBBL Tower, a press release said.

UCB Investment was the Lead Arranger & Issue Manager of the bond. Prime Bank Investment Ltd. acted as Joint Co-Arranger & Issue Manager and Islami Bank Capital Management Ltd. acted as Joint Co-Arranger of this issuance.

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited’s (IBBL) 2nd Perpetual Mudaraba Bond worth Tk 800 crore was the largest Perpetual Bond issuance by any bank till date.

Mohammed MonirulMoula, Managing Director & CEO, IBBL, Tanzim Alamgir, Managing Director & CEO, UCB Investment Ltd., Khandoker Raihan Ali, COO, Prime Bank Investment Ltd. were present at the event.

Muhammad Qaisar Ali, Additional Managing Director, IBBL, Md. Omar Faruk Khan, Additional Managing Director, IBBL and J Q M Habibullah, FCS, Deputy Managing Director & Company Secretary, IBBL, Md. Mostafizur Rahman Siddiquee, Deputy Managing Director, IBBL were also present.

UCB Investment was mandated to arrange around Tk 6,000 crore just in one year, in which it has completed around 80 percent of the fund raising in a very short span of time.
