US-Bangla launches initiative to train aircraft maintenance engineers

In a bid to nurture students and address the growing demand for aircraft maintenance engineers, US-Bangla Airlines has announced a two-year training program. 

The initiative aims to produce skilled professionals capable of ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft. 

The training program, compliant with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 147 standards, will be conducted outside the country. Prospective candidates who meet specific academic and personal requirements will have the opportunity to apply for this comprehensive training. 

To be eligible for the program, candidates must have achieved a minimum GPA of 4.5 in mathematics, physics, and chemistry in the Science department during their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations. Alternatively, applicants who have attained a grade-A in at least five subjects, including mathematics, physics, and chemistry, in the ‘O’ level exams, and a grade-B in at least two subjects, including mathematics, physics, and chemistry, in the ‘A’ level exams, will also be considered. Additionally, proficiency in English is a prerequisite. 

Furthermore, applicants must be Bangladeshi citizens and not hold residency in any other country. The maximum age limit for applicants is 22 years, and candidates must have a minimum height of 5 feet 4 inches. The body weight should be in accordance with the Body Mass Index (BMI) chart, and vision should be 6/6. It is also required that applicants abstain from alcohol and any involvement in criminal activities. Marital status should be single. 

The selection process for aircraft maintenance engineers involves multiple stages, including an IQ test, a written examination covering subjects such as English, mathematics, material science, and chemistry, qualification tests, psychometric evaluations, medical examinations, and oral interviews. Successful candidates will be provided with scheduled aircraft maintenance engineering training abroad, with US-Bangla Airlines overseeing the overall management and financial support. After completing the two-year training, qualified engineers will have the opportunity to join US-Bangla Airlines as type-rated engineers. 

Upon joining US-Bangla Airlines as an engineer, individuals can expect a monthly salary starting at Tk 200,000. The company offers various additional benefits, including two festival allowances, a provident fund, medical insurance, profit bonuses, and free travel on different routes operated by US-Bangla Airlines.
