78.64% passed HSC and equivalent exams in 2023

The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of 2023 have been published with a pass rate of 78.64% in 11 education boards of Bangladesh.

The results were released on the website and respective educational institutions at 11am on Sunday.

Analysis of the results showed that a total of 10,67,852 candidates have passed the examination in all the education boards. The pass rate is 80.57% in female students and 76.76% in male students.

The pass rate of nine general education boards in the HSC exam is 75.9%. The pass rate in HSC and equivalent exams was 85.95% in 2022 which was 95.26% a year earlier in 2021.

Accordingly, the pass rate has dropped by 7.31% in 2023 compared to previous year.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni handed over the summary of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganabhaban residence at 10am on Sunday.

This year a total of 1,374,488 students sat for HSC and equivalent exams from August 17 to September 25. Of them, 698,135 are boys and 676,353 are girls.

The education minister will hold a press conference at the International Mother Language Institute at Segunbagicha in Dhaka at 2:30pm to unveil the detailed HSC results before the media.
