Department of Marketing and International Business (MIB) at North South University (NSU) hosted a seminar on “E-Learning and Smart Education” on May 12.
Professor Badrul Khan, a world-renowned speaker, author, and educator, presented his keynote speech. Professor Helal Ahammad, Dean of the School of Business and Economics graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The session commenced with a brief overview of the keynote speaker by Dr. Mahmud Hassan, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Marketing and International Business at North South University.
Pioneering e-learning with his 1997 best-selling book ‘Web-Based Instruction’, Dr. Khan holds the honorary title ‘Distinguished Professor’ from the Egyptian E-Learning University Council. His past leadership roles include Founding Director of Educational Technology programs at George Washington University and the University of Texas at Brownsville. Currently, Professor Khan is working on e-learning projects at a federal agency in the United States and serves as a consultant to several international e-learning initiatives.
Professor Khan’s session encapsulated a framework for academics on how to adapt e-learning to the university curriculum. Dr. Khan presented his ‘SMART’ framework, which blends a result-oriented approach to sustainable and technology-enabled digital ecosystems.
Professor Helal Ahammad concluded the seminar with a vote of thanks, expressing his gratitude to the keynote speaker, organizers, and attendees for their valuable contributions in making the event a resounding success.
