In a heartwarming gesture of support, Daffodil International University (DIU) authorities, along with the University’s Alumni Association, handed over Tk 7 lac to the family of Hasibul Hasan Antar, a final year textile engineering student tragically killed in a recent terrorist attack, press release said Monday.
The sum included Tk 5 lakh from DIU’s student insurance coverage and Tk 2 lakh from the University Alumni Association. During this difficult time, DIU stand united with the Antar’s family.
Antar’s elder brother Hasanul Abedin received the cheque at a program attended by DIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Academic Affairs Dean Professor Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Registrar Dr. Nadir Bin Ali, Director Finance Hamidul haque Khan, Director of Student Affairs Syed Mizanur Rahman, Alumni Association President Ziaul Haque Sumon along with the members and other senior officials.
It may be mentioned that DIU brought its students, teachers, and employees under the insurance risk coverage of natural death, accidental death, permanent disability of all types (PTD), and permanent partial disability (PPD) since 2014. As a result, Hasibul Hasan Antar’s family received a death insurance claim cheque as donation.
