DIU holds discussion on National Mourning Day

Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a special discussion meeting on “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman: Thoughts, Philosophy, and Development Thoughts” on August 13, a press release said on Monday, marking 48th martyr-dom anniversary of Bangabandhu and National Mourning Day at International Conference Hall of the university. Historian Professor Dr. Syed Anwar Hossain, former Director General of Bangla Academy was present as the chief guest while Professor Shawkat Are Begum, Former Chairman of Political Science Department of Dhaka University was present as the special guest. Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor Daffodil International University presided over the program. The program was addressed by Professor Dr. S M Mahbub-Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dr. Liza Sharmin, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the university.

Marking the day a documentary making competition title “Bangabandhu in my Eyes” was held among the students of Daffodil International University and a painting competition was held among the students of different schools of the locality.

At the end of the discussion meeting Historian Professor Dr. Syed Anwar Hossain distributed prizes among the winners. The function was attended by all the Head of the Departments and Deans of different Faculties. A Large number of Faculty members, Officers, employees and students were present on the occasion.
