DIU holds freshers’ orientation for spring students

Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated the orientation programme for the students of spring semester 2024 on January 27at the Shawdhinata Sommelon Kendro at Daffodil Smart City, Dhaka with the theme of ‘Students Lead University’, a press release said Saturday.

Prominent dramatist, actor, and writer Brindavan Das, actress Shahnaz Khushi, Dhaka University’s Assistant Prof of Faculty of Dance Tamanna Rahman, Cultural Activist DibboJoty, DIU Alumnus Tousif Shahriar, Senior Assistant Director of BTRC, and Sabina Yeasmin, Senior Photo Journalist of Daily Prothom Alo were present at the programme. Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU welcomed the newly enrolled students.

While addressing at the orientation programme, Dr. M Lutfar Rahman said, “We have accepted with due responsibility and sincerity that you have chosen DIU for your children’s higher education from the place of hope and trust. Keeping this trust and faith intact, providing humane and institutional education to the newcomers is now our prime concern.”

The freshers roam around the entire campus in a joyful atmosphere since morning. In their joy, the green campus of Daffodil Smart City is stirred with a new color, the taste of innovation. In the Orientation Program Spring-2024 ceremony, the fresher’s started their university life in a joyful atmosphere with singing and dancing.

Director of student affairs Prof Dr. Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju encouraged the freshers to conduct the program and exchanged ideas with the fresher’s about the university life and also imparted an idea about the various institutional rules and regulation of the university. The guests also responded by addressing the freshers and giving away prizes to the winners of the ‘Learn and Win’ quiz competition.

The orientation program was jointly conducted by Nabila Islam, a student from the Department of Agricultural Science and Mobaswera Islam Mithi, a student from the Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering. A cultural program was performed by the freshers was staged. Later, a human logo titled “SKILLS” was created with the participation of the new students
