A team comprising of five students from the Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management proudly achieved second prize at the 3rd IAUP International Business Model Student Competition 2024, organized by the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP).
On May 30, the DIU Team “Technical Skills” competed with 40 final projects from 12 universities across 10 countries and received an award of USD 1500 at a virtual awards ceremony. The winning “Technical Skills” team members are Arabi Chowdhury, Marwa Abdus Salam, Rahat Islam, . Md. Ishrak Bhuiyan and Md. Shafiqul Islam Pranto.
Each team presented their inventive concepts, showcasing their commitment to devising sustainable solutions for global issues. The DIU team presented their project, “HydroZen Labs,” which connects SDGs 9, 11, 12, and 13, aiming to create smarter, more efficient farming systems by harnessing data analytics, artificial intelligence, and IoT. Their project strongly emphasizes practices promoting soil health, water conservation, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration.
