Department of English of Daffodil International University (DIU) will organize the English Olympiad Bangladesh 2022 with the motto ‘Show your English talents, Go for greater challenge,’ a press release said Sunday.
The final Round and the Prize Giving Ceremony of the Olympiad will be held on October 07, 2022 at Daffodil Smart City.
This year, there were 977 registrations from more than 70 institutions including secondary (575 from junior category classes 9-10) and higher secondary (402 from senior category classes 11-12) participants from all corners of Bangladesh. Now, after the selection round, the organizing committee is taking forward 501 participants to the theatre and final round following the prize giving ceremony. All these were informed in a “Meet the Press” held at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil Education Network at Dhanmondi in the capital on Sunday.
It was also informed that Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU will grace the award giving Ceremony as the chief guest. In the grand finale the winners will receive Tk 50,000 thousand, Tk 30,000 thousand and Tk 10,000 thousand respectively for the top three positions in both the categories.
Professor Dr. A M M Hamidur Rahman, dean, faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Dr. Liza Sharmin, associate professor and head of the Department of English, Ms. Nahid Kaiser, convener, Rabeya Binte Habib, co- convener of English Olympiad Bangladesh 2022 and Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, senior assistant director (Public Relations), DIU spoke at the programme.
