FBCCI-IRC, GEN Bangladesh Join Forces to reinvigorate entrepreneurship

FBCCI Innovation & Research Center (IRC) and Global Entrepreneurship Network- Bangladesh (GEN Bangladesh) have joined forces to reinvigorate entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic progress. Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin, Chairman of FBCCI-IRC, and Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh, formalized the partnership.

The signing of this MoU signifies a monumental milestone in Bangladesh’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry-FBCCI, stands as the apex trade organization in Bangladesh, representing the private sector with over 80 chambers and associations, 22,000 direct members, and 450,000 affiliated members. Under the aegis of their Research & Innovation Center (IRC), FBCCI-IRC will collaborate closely with GEN Bangladesh to fortify the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangladesh.

Key Highlights of the MoU include: Entrepreneurship Development, Connecting and linkages with Local and global Investors; Sharing and contributing Global Research; Resource Sharing and Mobilization; Events and Program Management; and Support for Startup Growth.

Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin, Chairman of FBCCI-IRC and former president of FBCCI, expressed his delight at the immense significance of this MoU signing. He anticipates a proactive collaboration that will promote a culture of innovation, allowing industries to pioneer product and service development. Moreover, he emphasized the pivotal role this partnership will play in supporting budding entrepreneurs and startups, enhancing their business innovation capabilities and access to finance.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, the Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh, expressed great satisfaction with FBCCI’s pioneering initiative to launch a dedicated Research and Innovation program. He emphasized GEN Bangladesh’s commitment to showcasing the innovative and creative endeavors of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs on the global stage, a move that will facilitate international investors, angel investors, and researchers in their collaboration with FBCCI-IRC. Dr. Khan also made an exciting announcement, revealing that a joint project named “Oitijjher Haat” under the “One District One Product” initiative will be instantly organized by FBCCI-IRC and GEN Bangladesh.

This partnership is expected to create a synergy that fuels entrepreneurial aspirations, connects startups with investors, and ultimately contributes to the economic development of Bangladesh.

GEN Bangladesh, part of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, and FBCCI are committed to driving entrepreneurship and innovation. This collaboration is set to play a pivotal role in the country’s growth and development.

Guests at the MoU Signing Ceremony included Mr. Bikarno Kumar Ghosh, CEO of FBCCI-IRC, senior Vice President of FBCCI-IRC, Vice President of FBCCI-IRC, the Head of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department of Daffodil International University, and the Director of the Innovation Center of DIU.
