The 50th anniversary of the Marketing Department of University of Dhaka (DU) has been celebrated through various programs.
The Golden Jubilee celebration of the Marketing Department was inaugurated at the Faculty of Business Studies premises by Dhaka University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal. The event, marking 50 years of the department’s establishment, was graced by several distinguished guests. Among them were Professor Dr. ABM Shahidul Islam, Chairman of the Marketing Department; Professor Dr. Mijanur Rahman, President of the Marketing Alumni Association and Convenor of MIB; and Faruk Ahmed Talukder, General Secretary of the Marketing Alumni Association. Other esteemed faculty members in attendance included Professor Dr. Razia Begum, Professor Dr. Samir Kumar Sheel, Professor Dr. Serajul Haque, and Professor Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed. Their presence added significance to this milestone occasion, highlighting the department’s rich history and bright future.
During the inauguration, Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal said, “Bangladesh has achieved unprecedented success in recent years. We must work from our respective positions to achieve national and international goals, including the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, the vision of a developed and prosperous Bangladesh 2041, and meeting the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Marketing knowledge is crucial for branding worldwide. Therefore, you must make significant contributions in this field.”
The Golden Jubilee celebration began with a cake-cutting ceremony. In the afternoon, a colorful rally started from the university’s Marketing Department premises. After circling the campus, the rally concluded with a brief gathering in front of the department. As part of the celebrations, students of the Marketing Department organized an enchanting cultural program at the Golden Jubilee event on the department premises.
This event, which began on July 1, will continue for four months with various programs and events, concluding with a gala closing ceremony on November 9.
