Grand closure of B-JET 12th batch held at NSU

The Closing Ceremony of the 12th Batch of the Bangladesh Japan ICT Engineers Training Program (B-JET), hosted by North South University’s Career and Placement Center (CPC), took place on Wednesday, marking a significant step in fortifying the relationship between Bangladesh and Japan.

The prestigious event was attended by distinguished guests, including Chief Guest IwamaKiminori, the Ambassador of Japan, and Special Guest JavedMuneer Ahmad, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of North South University. TomohideIchiguchi, Chief Representative of the JICA Bangladesh Office, and Mr. Yuji Ando, Country Representative of JETRO Bangladesh, were present. NSU Vice Chancellor Professor Atiqul Islam presided over the ceremony.

Prof. Keisuke Murakami, Vice President of the University of Miyazaki, sent a video message, and Kayoko Kitagawa, Representative Executive Director of SHINKOSHUPPANSHA KEIRINKAN CO., LTD., conveyed her best wishes through online.

The occasion also featured a Book Handover Ceremony of “The Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research,” further enhancing its importance.

JavedMuneer Ahmad highlighted the growing bilateral friendship between Bangladesh and Japan and underscored the potential for Bangladesh to address the global shortage of IT engineers. He stated, “Bangladesh could play a pivotal role in resolving the shortage of IT engineers, not only in Japan but on a global scale.”

Prof. Atiqul Islam, in his address, emphasized the pivotal role of the B-JET program in fostering technological excellence and international collaboration. He noted that the program not only imparts essential skills but also forges enduring friendships between the two nations.

Mr. TomohideIchiguchi and Mr. Yuji Ando shared encouraging words for the accomplished trainees of B-JET. Special Guest Mr. Md. GolamSarwar, Director (Training & Development) of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), and Mr. HomayunKabir, Corporate Director of BJIT Ltd. & Head of BJIT Academy, delivered inspiring speeches.

During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to nineteen trainees for their outstanding performance. These certificates, granted based on rigorous criteria, symbolize the trainees’ unwavering determination, dedication, and commitment to acquiring essential ICT skills for a prosperous career.

Professor Dr. Mohammad KhasroMiah, Director of the Career and Placement Center (CPC), conveyed his Vote of Thanks, highlighting the remarkable accomplishments of the trainees and the profound bond between Bangladesh and Japan.
