JIS University holds 4th convocation ceremony

JIS University Kolkata proudly hosted its 4th Convocation on June 29, celebrating academic excellence and the remarkable achievements of its students.

Founded in 2015, JIS University is part of the largest education conglomerate in Eastern India. Dr Md. Sabur Khan the Honorable Chairman BoT attended the ceremony as the guest of honor from Bangladesh.

The convocation ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including, Prof. Subhasis Chawdhuri, Former Director, IIT Bombay, KN Bajaj, Chair Professor, IIT Bombay, Prof. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Physicist and Professor, University of Houston (USA) & CERN (Switzerland), Prof. Arun Bandyopadhyay, Director, Gujarat Biotechnology University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil International University & Daffodil Education Network, Prof. Bhola Thapa, Vice Chancellor, Kathmandu University, Nepal, Prof. Md. Mashiur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, National University, Bangladesh, Sardar Taranjit Singh, Chancellor, JIS University & Managing Director, JIS Group, Prof. Bhabes Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, JIS University.

The convocation, held at the JIS University premises began with a ceremonial procession and official inauguration announcement. At the 4th Convocation of JIS University, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning, adaptability, innovation, ethical responsibility, global citizenship, digital proficiency, networking, and maintaining a balance for a successful and fulfilling life.

A significant highlight of the convocation was the signing of an Agreement of Cooperation to promote academic and cultural exchanges between JIS University and Daffodil International University. The agreement was signed by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Honorable Chairman BoT at Daffodil International University, and Sardar Taranjit Singh, Honorable Chancellor of JIS University.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership will pave the way for joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, and numerous other collaborative initiatives that will enhance the educational experiences and opportunities at both institutions.” The convocation ceremony not only celebrated the hard work and dedication of the students but also marked a significant step forward in fostering international cooperation in the academic realm.
