Milestone College observed National Mourning Day

Milestone College observed National Mourning Day and 48th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with respect and love on August 15, 2023. Marking the day, milestone college arranged elaborated programmes which included: hoisting of national flag at half-mast, The black flag is hoisted as a symbol of mourning, wearing black badges, Paying homage to Bangabandhu’s portrait, documentary exhibition, Discussion meeting based on Bangabandhu’s life, Prayer, Reading from patriotic poems, Cultural program and prize distribution.

Founder and advisor of Milestone College Colonel Nurun Nabi (retd.) was present as the chief guest at the Mourning Day programmes. Acting Principal of Milestone College Professor Zahirul Haque, Senior Director (Administration) Md. Masud Alam, teachers, vice-principals, faculty members and a large number of students attended the mourning day programmes.

The chief guest of the programme, Founder and advisor of Milestone College Colonel Nurun Nabi (retd.) said, Today is a sad day. After only three and a half years of independence, our Bangabandhu and his family members were brutally killed by assassins. The newly independent country started to go the wrong way. Finally through the darkness we find the light again. Colonel Nurun Nabi (retd.) said, Today we will take an oath-to complete Bangabandhu’s incomplete work, so we have to work continuously with the conviction of building Sonar Bangla.
