North South University (NSU) celebrated International Mother Languages Day by emphasizing the importance of preserving Bangla language in all aspects of life, a press release said Wednesday.
The event, held at the central auditorium of NSU, included a discussion program on ‘ShahidDibosh and International Mother Languages Day’ featuring renowned speakers such as former Minister of Culture Asaduzzaman Noor, M.P., Ms. Yasmin Kamal, Member of NSU Board of Trustees, and Pro Vice-Chancellor of NSU Professor Dr. M. Ismail Hossein.
Chaired by NSU Vice Chancellor Professor Atiqul Islam, the event highlighted the significance of the 1952 language movement in establishing the sense of belonging across the country.
The event concluded with a unanimous call to uphold the spirit of Bangla language in all spheres of people’s lives to pay homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the language movement in 1952.
