North South University (NSU) and Calcutta University (CU) in India have come together on Sunday to celebrate the 162nd birth anniversary of poet Rabindranath Tagore through three-day academic and cultural events at NSU’s campus, a press release said.
Faculty and student delegation from Calcutta University met NSU’s C, Professor Atiqul Islam.
Welcoming the delegation, Professor Atiqul Islam highlighted the numerous cultural similarities between the people of two friendly neighbors. He emphasized preserving Bengali culture through collaboration with Calcutta University. Prof. KingshukChatterjee, Chairman of the Department of History at Calcutta University hoped for a better future through such cultural exchanges.
Professor Dr. M Ismail Hossain, Pro VC of NSU, Professor Amit Dey of the Department of History at Calcutta University, Deans from School of Health & Life Sciences, School of Engineering & Physical Sciences and School of Humanities & Social Sciences NSU, Prof. Dr. M. EmdadulHaq, Chair of NSU’s Department of History and Philosophy and Dr. Sharifuddin Ahmed, Professor of NSU’s Department of History and Philosophy were also present.
