NSU holds blood donation program

The annual “Blood Donation Drive 2023” organised by North South University Social Services Club (NSU SSC) started on the NSU campus today, said a press release.

The programme for the university students will continue till March 21.

In collaboration with the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation and Samity, the event aimed to prevent fatalities caused by blood scarcity and to encourage young people to donate blood.

NSU Vice Chancellor Prof Atiqul Islam, pro-VC M Ismail Hossain, and Faculty Advisor Meshbaul Hassan Chowdhury were present during the inaugural ceremony.

A specialist supervised the entire blood collection procedure, and 1,200 bags of blood were collected throughout the event.

Free testing for malaria, syphilis, hepatitis A and B, and HIV was also offered. Additionally, donors received a complimentary membership card from the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation and Samity.
