NSU holds orientation program for of Fall 2022

North South University (NSU) has organized orientation for newly enrolled students of Fall Semester 2022 on Thursday, a press release said Thursday.

More than 2000 students have got the opportunity to get admission to the graduate (honors) courses in 16 departments of the four schools of the university.

Among them, 59 students were awarded scholarships for good results in the admission examination. The orientation program was broadcast live on the official Facebook page of North South University.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, Minister, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was present as the chief guest. Bangladeshi poet and novelist Mohammad Nurul Huda, director general, Bangla Academy was present as the Special Guest. Ms. Yasmin Kamal, Javed Munir Ahmad and Ms. Seema Ahmad, member, Board of Trustees (BoT), NSU were present as Guests of Honor. Professor Atiqul Islam, VC of NSU, chaired the event.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP said, “You are passing the most important time of your life. Time does not wait for anyone. People who can make the best use of time become successful.”

Ms. Yasmin Kamal said, “North South University has all kinds of facilities to provide you the best education, you have make the best result by taking advantage of all these opportunities and you have to play a role in the development of your family and country.”She thanked the parents for trusting NSU.

Javed Munir Ahmad said, “I encourage all of you to take advantage of the resources, the opportunities and the environment that you have at NSU. Take this next four years very seriously and push yourself high.”

Professor Atiqul Islamsaid, “Students come to a university for a good job, 100 percent graduates of NSU are in good position in the job market. NSU is ranked in the top 500 in the world in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022.”

Prof. Dr. M. Ismail Hossain, Pro-VC, Dr. Ahmed Tazmeen, registrar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, dean, School of Business & Economics, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rob Khan, dean, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Javed Bari, dean, School of Engineering & Physical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mahmud Reza, dean, School of Health & Life Sciences were also present.
