NSU holds Silk Road Chinese Music Concert

North South University (NSU) and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh jointly organized the ‘Silk Road Chinese Music Concert’ at the NSU auditorium on Sunday, 27th August, a press release said on Monday. The event served as a platform for cultural exchange and collaboration between the two nations.

Yao Wen, the Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh, was present as Special Guest. Professor Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of NSU, was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Bulbul Siddiqi, Director of the Confucius Institute and Associate Professor of the Political Science and Sociology Department, delivered the opening remarks, setting an inspiring tone in the event.

Yao Wen expressed his optimism about the cultural event’s potential to nurture a deeper understanding and mutual respect for both nations. ‘Art is the universal language that transcends any relation. Through art and culture, we celebrate these ties and pave a stronger relationship between our nations’, he observed.

Professor Atiqul Islam shared his insights, highlighting the need for a more profound grasp of the Chinese language and literature. He announced that NSU will open a department of Chinese Language in the near future.
