NSU organizes BookKeeper Training Certificate Award Ceremony

The Department of Accounting and Finance (DAF) of the School of Business and Economics (SBE)of North South University (NSU), hasorganized ‘BookKeeper Training Certificate Awarding Ceremony’ at Syndicate Hall of NSU recently.

Thirty-eight students received the certificates after attending a month-long training on the usage of the BookKeeper App, followed by a test. The certificate receivers are expected to provide training on App usage to the owners of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) business to trail their accounting records.

The BookKeeper is an accounting App developed by the ASPEN Capital Solutions LLC, USA, for MSMEs to be able to record their financial transactions and to produce financial statements without much accounting expertise. 

NSU Vice Chancellor Professor Atiqul Islamsaid,“The development of this types of app would allow small business owners to access finance which addressed the sustainable development goal (SDG).”He congratulated the students to participate actively in this training program expecting more voluntary initiatives in the future.

Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Dean, SBE of NSU said, “Small business owners would be able to avail formal financial services and contribute to the nation’s financial inclusion strategy.” NSU SBE was strongly stressing the need for more community-reaching programs like this and would welcome any concerted program for the betterment of the society, he mentioned further.
