On the occasion of World Tourism Day 2021, the Center for Infrastructure Research and Services (CIRS), North South University (NSU) arranged a webinar on September 28 on the topic ‘Recent Development of Infrastructure Facilities in the Tourism Sector of Bangladesh’.
R A M ObaidulMuktadirChowdhury, MP, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism was present there as the Chief Guest, a press release said.
The Chair of the session was Professor Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, NSU. Other speakers were PabanChowdhury, Ex-Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, and immediate past Ex. Chairman, BEZA; Prof. Abdul HannanChowdhury, Dean, SBE, NSU; Jabed Ahmed, CEO of Bangladesh Tourism Board and Dr. Santus Kumar Deb, Chair of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Dhaka University.
Moderator of the session Prof. Dr. Md. Sirajul Islam, Director, CIRS, NSU introduced the session, mentioning Bangladesh as a land of beauty and emphasizing that with the rapid growth in Bangladesh’s economy, demand for tourism will increase day by day. PabanChowdhury elaborated in detail the recent initiatives of BEZA in developing the basic infrastructure facilities for the tourism sector, including some special tourism zones as Sabrong, Naaf, and Sonadia. He assured that once these special tourism zones were established, there will be a revolution in the tourism sector of Bangladesh, which will attract tourists from both home and abroad.
