NSU VC attends ACU Vice-Chancellor Summit

Professor Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of North South University, Bangladesh, recently participated in the prestigious Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Vice-Chancellor Summit 2024, a press release said on Friday. The summit, held on May 15, 2024, brought together esteemed leaders from academia across the Commonwealth to deliberate on pressing issues in higher education and foster collaboration towards sustainable development goals.

During the summit, Professor Islam actively contributed to strategic discussions on key topics such as innovative pedagogies, research collaboration, and addressing challenges in higher education access and equity. His insights and perspectives from the Bangladeshi context added valuable dimensions to the discourse, reflecting North South University’s dedication to addressing global challenges through localized solutions.

In the event, Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi delivered an inspiring address to the reception guests, further enriching the summit experience with his insights on the intersection of education and peace-building efforts. The event saw an astounding high-level delegation of 70 Chancellors, Education Ministers, Vice-Chancellors, and representatives from the United Nations, underscoring the global significance of the discussions held and the commitment of stakeholders to collaborative action in higher education.
