Jagannath University (JnU) gets Dhaka University’s sociology teacher Professor Sadeka Halim as new the Vice-Chancellor. She is the 6th Vice-Chancellor and the first-ever female vice chancellor of the university.
A gazette notification was issued by the ministry of education in this regard on Thursday.
The post of vice chancellor left vacant as former VC Dr Imdadul Haque died of cancer all of a sudden.
Sadeka Halim, now DU Sociology department chairman, will take the role as President and Chancellor of the university Mohammed Shahabuddin appointed her according to section 10(1) of Jagannath University Act, 2005, Sadeka Halim was made the sixth VC of the university for four years.
