Team Neptune, a team of students from BRAC University and Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) won the championship at the ‘Robot Nakshar Ashor 2021’ competition organized by Daffodil Robotics Lab and the Department of Software Engineering of Daffodil International University.
Team Neptune won the championship by presenting idea of collecting waste through robots and showing the solution to the problem of water pollution. Daffodil International University’s team ‘DIU Soldiers’ has been runner up with the idea of inventing a smart wheelchair. On the other hand, another team of BRAC University ‘MechaMind’ has become the second runner up. They presented the idea of inventing ‘prosthetic arm’, a press release said.
The closing ceremony of Robot Nakshar Ashor-2021 was held on October 09, 2021 virtually and was live through Campus TV. The Award giving Ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Hafiz Md. HasanBabu, Professor, Department of Computer Science &Engineering, the University of Dhaka as Chief Guest, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan Chairman, Board of Trustee, Daffodil International University was present as the guest of Honor. Mr. Andy Lee President, Innovation First International Ltd. Hong Kong, Dr. JunaedSattar Assistant Professor of Robotics and HRI, University of Minnesota, USA, and Mr. Mohammad ArfeElahi CTO, a2i were present as the Guest Speakers. Dr. Imran Mahmud, Associate Professor, and Head, Department of Software Engineering of Daffodil International University presided over the Award Giving Ceremony. Md. KaushikSarker, Co-convener of Robot Nakshar Ashor-2021 and Assistant Professor of Software Engineering Department conducted the program while Md. Hafizul Imran, Co-convener of the program concluded the program with vote of thanks.
30 teams from 20 educational institutions across the country competed for two months long in the competition. The Robot Nakshar Ashor-2021 competition was supported by A2i Project, Bangladesh Robotics Foundation and JCI Dhaka Heritage.
