Two injured in opposition’s attack in Rajshahi-6

At least two persons were injured during a clash between the supporters of the AL and independent candidates of Rajshahi-6 (Bagha-Charghat) constituency on Sunday morning.

Locals and witnesses said Rezaul Karim and Mission Sarkar, two supporters of state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam, were going to the Naotik-Arifpur polling centre of Bajubagha union of the upazila.

During that time supports of Independent candidate Rahenul Huq Raihan locked into an altercation and later attacked them, leaving Rezaul and Mission Sarkar injured.

Later, the injured were rescued and were taken to the Upazila Health Complex.

Meanwhile, a crude bomb was exploded within the 200 yard of Digha Government Primary School of Bausha Union of the upazila, but no casualties were reported.

Officer-in-charge of Bagha Police station Aminul Islam acknowledging the matter said law enforcement agencies were working in the field.
