The 11th National and 8th International Conference of Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Bangladesh (APSB) was held on May 3 and 4.
Famous pediatric surgeons of the country participated in the scientific sessions of this conference held at Ocean Paradise Hotel, Cox’s Bazar. Every year a distinguished pediatric surgeon is awarded the ‘Professor Quazi Quamruzzaman Best Pediatric Surgeon Gold Medal’ at the conference. This medal is given in the name of brave Freedom Fighter Professor Quazi Quamruzzaman, founder of Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Bangladesh, Ekushe Medalist and Chairman of Dhaka Community Hospital Trust. This year, Professor Dr. Md. Kabirul Islam, MS, (Paediatric Surgery) FACS, FRCS, Senior Consultant and Coordinator of Pediatric Surgery Department of Square Hospital Ltd., received this medal.
The 11th National and 8th Conferences of APSB were divided into 5 Scientific Sessions. Prof. Md. Aminur Rashid, Prof. Md. Abu Zafar, Prof. Md. Arifur Rahman, Prof. AKM Zahid Hossain, Prof. Abdul Hanif Tablu, Prof. Mirza Kamrul Zahid, Prof. Quazi Quamruzzaman, Prof. Ruhul Amin, Prof. Ashraful Haque presided over the conference in various sessions. Prof. Rezaur Islam, Prof. Kaniz Hasina, Prof. Shahnur Islam, Prof. Sushankar Kumar Mondal, Prof. Tahmina Banu, Prof. Abdul Aziz MP, Prof. Kabirul Islam and Prof. Tasadduk Hasan Siddiqui.
Renowned and prominent pediatric surgeons of the country participated in discussions on various important issues of pediatric surgery in the sessions.
