Around 1,500 patients get free eye treatment

Dr Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Kalyan Trust has provided free eye treatment services to 1,400+ patients of Islampur Upazila in Jamalpur district. Among them, 483 patients have been selected for cataracts, enlarged muscles and eye tract infections operations. 

This medical service was provided through an Eye camp held on last Friday and Saturday (September 30 and October 1, 2022) at Degreechar High School grounds in Islampur. A four-member medical team of experienced doctors led by Ophthalmologist Dr. Abdul Gaffar conducted this eye camp. At that time patients were given primary eye treatment and eye scanning.

The inauguration ceremony presided by SM Shahinuzzaman, Trustee of Dr. Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Kalyan Trust Board. He said, ‘Trust has been working since the beginning of this year with the aim of eliminating the eye problems of the people of Islampur within the 105th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu. The trust has so far provided necessary eye care services to around eight thousand patients through the continuously organized eye camps. About 500 patients with cataracts, enlarged muscles and eye tract infections diagnosed at eye camp will soon be operated free of cost.

Former Joint Secretary Dr. ShahidMotahar Hossain, IslampurUpazilaParishad Chairman SM Jamal AbdunNacher, Upazila Executive Officer Tanveer Hasan Ruman and others also spoke on the occasion.

Dr. Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Kalyan Trust is always working for the people of Islampur where he extended his helping hand wherever he saw the suffering of people in the area, the speakers said.
