Daffodil Health Institute holds seminar on cancer

To make awareness about cancer prevention and management strategies, Daffodil Health Institute in collaboration with Bangladesh Senior Citizens Welfare Society & Global Travel – Medical Tourism organized a seminar titled “Understanding Cancer and How We Can Deal with It” on 30 May 2024 at 71 Milanayaton in Dhaka. The event attracted a diverse audience, including students, health professionals, and cancer patients.

As the keynote speaker and chief guest, Sir Walter F. Bodmer, Head of the Cancer & Immunogenetics Laboratory at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, Oxford University, graced the seminar with his unparalleled expertise. His address illuminated the intricacies of cancer development, emphasizing the imperative of comprehending cellular mutations for effective treatment strategies. Additionally, he shed light on age incidence curves for colorectal cancer, underlining lifestyle factors like smoking and diet as pivotal in prevention and management efforts.

The seminar further featured compelling speeches from distinguished guests, including Eng. Md. Fazlul Hoque, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Senior Citizens Welfare Society, Kazi Mesbah Ur Rahman, Head of Operations, Admission.ac, and Sushanta Kumar Ghose, Project Director, Daffodil Health Institute and Minhajul Islam Niloy co-ordinator of Medical Tourism and Hospitality, Global Travel.
