Country’s leading healthcare provider Evercare Hospital Dhaka’s Hematology Department recently celebrated its 7th BMT Day at the hospital auditorium.
As part of the celebration, the department organised a day-long scientific seminar which was attended by hematologists from both home and abroad, according to a press statement.
Dr Nasrin Akhter, Dr Menoti Paul Mukti, Dr Mujahida Rahman, Dr Mafruha Akter, Dr Tasneem Ara, Dr Huque Mahfuz, Dr Akhil Ranjon Biswas and Dr Abdullah Az Zubayer Khan attended the seminar as speakers among others.
Besides, Dr Bimalangshu Dey from Boston and Dr Amin Islam from UK joined the session virtually.
Dr Abu Jafar Mohammed Saleh, coordinator and senior consultant of Hematology and Stem Cell Transplant Department of Evercare Hospital Dhaka (EHD) and Evercare Hospital Chattogram (EHC) chaired the scientific session and shared his future plan to make bone marrow transplant available for all patients in Bangladesh.
He said there is no need to go abroad for blood cancer treatment as it is already available in our own country.
Among others, Brig Gen (Rtd) AKM Mustafa Abedin, president of Hematology Society of Bangladesh, Prof Md Salahuddin Shah, chairman of the Department of Hematology BSMMU, Prof Mohiuddin Ahmed Khan, former HOD of DMCH, Prof MA Aziz of BSMMU were present at the event along with other prominent hematologists.
