Khursheduzzaman Trust  provides free eye treatment to 4,000 patient

Dr. Khursheduzzaman Mishri Mia Welfare Trust has provided treatment services for various eye diseases including free operations to about 4,000 underprivileged patients of Jamalpur’s Islampur sub-district, a press release said Tuesday.

Of these, 378 patients had cataract operations and 34 had procedures for enlarged eye muscles and eye canal infections.

All patients also receive free medication. A three-day eye camp hosted at the city’s Ma Digital General Hospital was attended by 15 skilled medical professionals working under the direction of ophthalmologist Prof. Dr. Hamidul Haque.

Board of Trustee of Dr. Khursheduzzaman Mishri Mia Welfare Trust SM Shahinuzzaman said, “The people of Char area are deprived of necessary eye care services. The trust aims to free the people of Islampur from blindness.”

State Minister for Religious affairs Alhaj Md. Faridul Haque Khan MP was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of Eye Camp.
