Mishri Mia Trust starts free eye surgery campaign

Dr. Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Welfare Trust has started a program to provide free procedures, operations for various eye conditions to roughly 1000 patients in Jamalpur’s Islampur Upazila, a press release said Monday.

The campaign was launched on the occasion of the 75th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a four-day eye camp was set up to perform this surgery.

An inaugural ceremony for this camp was held in front of the Dak Bungalow of the Zilla Parishad in Islampur on October 15. It will continue till October 18.

Dr. Ishtiaque M. Syed, a professor in the physics department at Dhaka University and the provost of Amar Ekushe Hall attended the opening ceremony of the eye camp as chief guest.

Islampur Upazila Parishad Chairman SM Jamal Abdun Nacher, upazila nirbahi officer Tanveer Hasan Ruman and Islampur Upazila Awami Leagueleader SM Jahangir Alam also attended the program.
