A court here today remanded10 people including crane operator Md Al Amin Hossain alias Hridoy on different terms in a case lodged over deaths of five people after a part of a box girder of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project fell on their car in Dhaka’s Uttara area on August 15.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahammed passed the order as police produced Hridoy, his helper Rakib, safety engineer Zulfikar before the court and pleaded to place them on 10-day remand. After hearing the plea, the court placed the three accused on four-day remand each.
The court also placed security guards Rubel, 28, Md Afroj Miah, 50, owner of heavy equipments supplier company IFSCON Bangladesh Limited Md Iftekhar Hossain, 39, its Head of Operations Md Azharul Islam Mithu, 45, crane supplying company Build Trade’s marketing manager Tofazzal Hossain Tusher, 42, admin officers Ruhul AMin Mridha, 33, and Md Monjurul Islam, 29, on two- day remand each.
Teams of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested them in separate drives from Dhaka, Gazipur, Sirajganj and Bagerhat on August 17.
