2 more of women trafficking ring remanded

A Dhaka court on Thursday sent two more members of an international women’s trafficking ring on five-day remand in a case filled by a woman for 77 days of horrific torture in India.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid granted the remand when investigative officer of the case produced the accused before the court with a 10-day remand prayer. After hearing both sides the court granted them five-day remand each.

The remanded accused are Amirul Islam and Abdus Salam Mollah.

Police took three members, Mehedi Hasan, Mohiuddin and Abdul Quader on remand for five days on Thursday.

According to the intelligence got from them after interrogation, police arrested Amirul Islam and Abdus Salam Mollah from the border district of Satkhira on Monday.

According to the complaint of the case, the young woman fell into clutches of the international women’s trafficking ring after she left her home for a hangout meeting regarding social media application TikTok. She gave a gruesome account of the horrific torture she faced in India for 77 days.
