In a notification on Sunday (August 25), the PSC said the exams originally scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 9 have been deferred.
A revised schedule will be announced later.
The preliminary examination for the 46th BCS was held on April 26, with 10,638 candidates qualifying for the written exams.
The notification said 3,140 officials would be recruited this time. The government plans to hire 1,682 assistant surgeons and 16 assistant dental surgeons as well as 520 teachers through this exam.
