AAAB Celebrates Successful Election 2023

The Australian Alumni Association Bangladesh (AAAB) is delighted to announce the successful conclusion of its highly anticipated Election 2023, held at the Zara Convention Center, Haque Plaza, Gulshan -1, Dhaka 1212. The event marked a significant milestone for the association, bringing together a total of 543 members, of which 139 exercised their right to vote. said a press release.

The AAAB Election 2023 aimed at electing leaders who will play a pivotal role in realizing the association’s vision of building a self-motivated, self-directed, and self-sustaining alumni community in Bangladesh. The election process, conducted with utmost transparency and fairness, saw enthusiastic participation from AAAB members, reflecting the commitment to shaping the future of the association.

Key Highlights of the AAAB Election 2023:

The election took place at the Zara Convention Center, providing a conducive and professional environment for members to participate in the democratic process. With a total membership of 543, the election witnessed active engagement, with 139 members casting their votes to elect leaders who will guide AAAB’s initiatives in the coming term.

The candidates vying for leadership positions presented their visions for AAAB, aligning with the association’s goal of creating a dynamic and self-sustaining alumni community in Bangladesh. The election process adhered to AAAB’s commitment to transparency, ensuring that all members had an equal opportunity to participate and make informed choices. The results of the election were announced at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting (AGM), unveiling the individuals who will lead AAAB in the upcoming term.

Mr. Md. Abu Nasar Uddin (Personal Secretary of Deputy Minister- Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change) elected as President. Mr. Mirza Mohammad Mamun Sadat (BCS- Taxation) and Mr. Ershad Jan Chowdhury (ICDDRB) are jointly elected as Vice President. Ms. Fatema Jahan Sharna (Additional District and Session Judge, Kishoreganj) elected as General Secretary. Mr. Md. Mahboob Sobhani (Joint District and Sessions Judge (4th BJS); Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Programme ; Cabinet Division and ICTD) elected as Joint Secretary. Mr. Md. Hafiz Hasan (BCS (Agriculture); DAE, Faridpur) elected as Treasurer (Uncontested winner). Dr. Mohammad Khurshid Alam (Principal Scientific Officer at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) elected as Research & Publication Secretary with the highest margin (97/42) of votes among the contesting candidates. Mr. Md. Omar Faruq Khan (Deputy Commissioner, BCS- Taxation) elected as Social Welfare and Networking Secretary (Uncontested winner). Mst. Irin Parvin (BCS (Agriculture), DAE, Khamarbari, Dhaka) elected as Event and Cultural Affairs Secretary (Uncontested winner). Ms. Tithi Sikder and Ms. Lopa Khan are jointly elected as Member (Uncontested winner).
